Story:

Raghava (Priyadarshi) dreams of getting a good job and marrying a beautiful girl since childhood. He is all set to marry Nandini (Ananya Nagalla) when she elopes with her lover just before the wedding. Devastated, Raghava decides to end his life. That’s when he meets Aanandhi (Nabha Natesh) and marries her in a matter of hours. What are the troubles Raghava faces? What is Aanandhi’s problem? Who is she actually? Will the two stay together? The answers to these questions are found on the silver screen.

Plus Points:

  • The first half of the film is one of the promising aspects. The narration proceeds with good comedy from the start. The funny scenes and good one-liners are impressive till the pre-interval. Also, there is a good emotional scene on Ragubabu in the second half.
  • Among the performances of the actors, only the main leads have given solid performances. Nabha Natesh, in particular, has given her best performance in this film with more shades than in her career so far. She has done many expressions very cutely. She has also acted well in some emotional scenes. Priyadarshi, as we know, has given his own easy performance in many films. He also impresses with his good comic timing in this. Also, his emotional performance in the second half is good.
  • Apart from them, the film also has some interesting cameos. Comedy Brahma Brahmanandam surprises. Young actress Ananya Nagalla, Mega daughter Niharika, and talented actor Suhas are seen in good roles in this film. Along with them, Murali Dhar Goud, Raghu Babu, Sunita Manohar, and others impress to the extent of their roles.

Minus Points:

  • After a decent and okay first half, if there had been a solid second half in the same way or even better, it would have been a big plus for the film. But this is sorely missed in this film. With unexciting twists and a poorly paced screenplay, most of the second half is irritating. Also, the fun elements maintained in the first half are also not much in the second half, and even if they are, they will definitely not impress all sections of the audience.
  • We have already seen films like Aparichitudu and Chandramukhi, this film also comes in the same category and gives a very boring treat. Also, there are no proper emotions in the film. Niharika’s character does not fit into the film at all. There is no logic as to how her role comes and how she knows the lead actors.

Technical Aspects:

  • The production values in the film are good. Among the technical team, the songs given by music director Vivek Sagar are not in his mark. Except for one song in the first half, his work is disappointing. Also, the re-recording is not impressive. Naresh Ramdurai’s cinematography is good. A. Raghav’s editing should have reduced the boring scenes. Dialogues are okay.

Director:

  • As for director Ashwin Ram, his work for this film is below average. It is okay till Priyadarshi’s line, but the rest of the film seems boring and as if we have already seen it. Moreover, the narration has been dragged for a long time. Comedy is okay in some places, but the rest is disappointing.

Verdict:

  • Overall, the main leads Priyadarshi and Nabha Natesh have excelled in their roles in this “Darling” film. Similarly, decent comedy in the first half and some okay scenes here and there have turned this film into an okay entertainer. But there are also many boring scenes, which do not make this film a full-fledged entertainer. Those who want to watch the film with very low expectations can try it.

Rating: 2.8/5
