Hindi-speaking horror comedy fans always have a soft spot for these types of entertainers. Starcast or not, many such movies have performed well at the box office, with Munjya being the latest example. Starring Abhay Verma and Sharvari Wagh, the film has become a trend-breaking success at the box office. With a net collection of Rs 4 crore, Munjya started its journey and within a week, it established its stronghold at the box office.
Karthik Aryan’s Chandramukhi Champion had better first-week numbers than Munjya, but the latter’s second-week collections are massive. Munjya didn’t stop there, it has started racing towards the Rs 100 crore mark. Everyone thought Munjya would slow down after the release of Prabhas’ Kalki 2898 AD, but the film has managed to hold its own and continues to attract audiences to theaters, even after Kalki’s release. Despite losing screens after Kalki’s release, Munjya is still holding its own and attracting a limited number of viewers to theaters. On its 25th day, Munjya has crossed the Rs 100 crore mark in India, making it the third Bollywood film to achieve this milestone this year, after Fighter and Satya.
