The much-awaited OTT release of the Prabhas-starrer “Kalki 2898 AD” has been delayed. The sci-fi action film, which also features Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani, will not be available on any OTT platform for the next 10 weeks. This means that fans will have to wait until early September to watch the film on their home screens.
The film, directed by Nag Ashwin, hit theaters on June 27 and has been a box office success, grossing over ₹1,000 crore worldwide. However, it appears that the makers want to maximize the film’s theatrical run before making it available on OTT platforms.
“Kalki 2898 AD” is set in the year 2898 and follows the story of a warrior who travels back in time to save the future. The film has been praised for its visual effects and action sequences.
Apart from Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani, the film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Sanjay Dutt. It is produced by Vyjayanthi Movies and Harikrishna Productions.
The film’s OTT release date is yet to be announced, but it is expected to be available on Disney+ Hotstar, Amazon Prime Video, and Netflix in early September.
