Kalki, Maya Bazaar… Both are One – Nag Ashwin

Director Nag Ashwin's latest mythology-based movie Kalki 2898 AD is creating sensation at the Indian box office. A journalist asked Nag Ashwin if the Mahabharata scenes in the movie were inspired from anywhere. Nag Ashwin replied that When we think of Telugu cinema the first thing that comes to our mind is Mayabazar That movie is also based on Mahabharata However Mahabharata does not have scenes like those in the movie I was inspired by that movie when I wrote the story of Kalki For me Kalki and Mayabazar are the same.

Director Nag Ashwin’s latest mythology-based movie, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, is creating sensation at the Indian box office. As the movie runs successfully, director Nag Ashwin is interacting with the media.

In this context, a journalist asked, “Are the Mahabharata scenes in the movie inspired from anywhere?” In response, Nag Ashwin spoke, “When we think of Telugu cinema, the first thing that comes to our mind is Mayabazar. That movie is also based on Mahabharata. However, Mahabharata does not have scenes like those in the movie. I was inspired by that movie when I wrote the story of Kalki. For me, Kalki and Mayabazar are the same.”

Audiences are praising the movie, saying that it is nice to see Kalki inspired by Mayabazar. The movie features Prabhas as the hero and has a star cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, Disha Patani, and others playing key roles.
