The Media and Entertainment Skills Council, along with Producer’s Bar, has initiated a program to train assistant filmmakers in various sections of the film industry. This program is aimed at providing a comprehensive understanding of their respective domains to assistants, who despite having talent, often lack recognition and struggle to excel in their careers.

The short-term certification course provides a platform for the learners to gain in-depth knowledge about their domain and to transform into experts. As per Ficci Chin, Co-founder of Prij Technologies Private Limited, this training is designed to help assistant filmmakers across languages – Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada – build their careers and emerge as experts in their respective domains. It will be implemented in collaboration with the producers’ community, studios, and film industry bodies.

Veer Shankar, President of Telugu Film Directors Association, opined that this training will be useful for assistant filmmakers and help them excel in their careers. With the help of the government and the support of producers and studios, this program is expected to produce successful and accomplished professionals in the film industry.
