Hema, a Telugu actress, had been arrested by the Bengaluru police two months ago after a drug racket was busted in a rave party. She was accused of consuming drugs. Subsequently, she was interrogated by the police and later released on bail. As a result, the Movie Artists’ Association (MAA) had revoked her primary membership.

Recently, Hema has sent a letter to the MAA secretary, M. Vishnu, stating that she had been a primary member of the association for over a decade. She claimed that the MAA had not given her a chance to explain herself before revoking her membership and that the association had not provided a reasonable explanation for her expulsion. She alleged that her reputation had been tarnished and her rights had been violated.

Hema also stated that she had recently undergone a drug test and the results were negative. She claimed that the police had conducted further investigations and the details would be revealed soon. She requested that her membership be reinstated as she believed that the MAA would support her in the drug case.

Hema’s letter reads, ‘I have been a primary member of MAA for over a decade. But despite this, I was expelled from the association without any notice or explanation. Even when I was accused of being involved in a drug racket, no notice was given to me or my representation. This is gross injustice… I request that my membership be reinstated as I believe MAA will support me in the drug case.’

In her letter, Hema had sought an explanation from the MAA about her expulsion and had threatened to take legal action if the association did not reverse its decision.
