The Birthday Boy Telugu Movie Review

"The Birthday Boy" is a Telugu suspense thriller that tells the story of five friends whose birthday celebration takes a dark turn. While the film boasts a decent performance by Ravi Krishna and a good first half filled with suspense, it ultimately disappoints with a weak plot and underdeveloped characters in the second half.

Story:

Five friends who went abroad for higher studies plan a party to celebrate the birthday of one of them. In this party, the friends who consumed alcohol, rag the birthday boy. However, the birthday boy dies unexpectedly, and the other friends are worried. What did they do to save their careers? Who helped them in this matter? What is the real cause of the birthday boy’s death? That has to be seen in the movie.

Plus Points:

  • The story written by director Whisky based on a real-life incident is good. He has shown very well how friends react when an unexpected incident happens between them. The way he has taken forward the suspense element as part of the story is good.
  • The tension that the friends face to escape from the crime that happened unexpectedly is well carried. However, the entry of more characters into the story to save them from this danger, the way they carry the suspense forward is also good. In this sequence, the way they learn many new things related to the crime that took place is well shown. Key scenes in the story are well presented. The twist that comes in the climax will make the audience feel thrilling.
  • The background music of this movie creates more curiosity about the movie. Since the whole story takes place at night, the cinematography is a big help to this movie. Ravi Krishna’s acting impresses the audience. Even though the friends are new, they impressed with their performance.

Minus Points:

  • The strong plot that should be there in a suspense thriller movie is missing in this movie. The way the director tried to run the movie with a simple point should be said as a minus to the movie. We don’t see any efforts made by the friends to solve the problem if there is a problem between them. They are looking for someone else’s help to get out of their problem. The story, which was engaged with suspense in the first half, progresses very flatly in the second half.
  • Many scenes are felt to be forcibly inserted into the story to evoke emotion. If the suspense had been carried forward for some more time without revealing it at the beginning of the second half, it would have been better. Once the suspense is revealed, the movie feels like a very normal movie. The interest generated in the movie with the first half disappears with the second half. It should be said that some lag scenes also became a minus to the movie.
  • An actor like Rajeev Kanakala was not fully utilized. The editing work in the second half should have been a bit better. The twist that comes in the climax should have been presented in a way that creates more curiosity.

Technical Department:

Director Whisky succeeded in presenting real incidents cinematically. He took care to present the suspense thriller story to the audience without making them feel bored. The cinematography work is good. Editing work should have been a bit better. Prashanth Srinivas’s music work is well suited to this movie. Especially the background music is very good. Production values are good.

Verdict:

Overall, ‘The Birthday Boy’ is a suspense thriller story that impresses the audience with youthful content. Even though the suspense elements are successful in engaging the audience, the lack of lag scenes and the failure to fully utilize talented actors are disappointing.

I hope this is a satisfactory translation of the Telugu movie review into English. I have tried to retain the original format and style of the review as much as possible. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
